CALLING all painters, drawers, sculptors, potters. Hobbyists and professionals. Young and old. We need your art!
We have put out the call for entries in this year’s Aspects Art Show.
The Goondiwindi Show weekend is fast approaching so it’s time to get into the studio – or kitchen, or shed – and produce an artistic masterpiece to enter.
With the number of exhibits increasing every year and a whopping $25,000 in prize money, the Aspects Art Show is recognised as a significant cultural event throughout the Goondiwindi region and beyond.
Just ask last year’s major prize winner, full-time artist Catherine Stewart, who won the Open section with her painting “The Board”.
“The Aspects Art Show is a wonderful arts event. I love bringing my work to Goondiwindi.”
“The enthusiasm of the Show committee and the fantastic response to my work from the people of Goondiwindi has encouraged me to exhibit at least four times.”
Raised in the Riverina, NSW, Catherine is now based in the Victorian country town of Beechworth. Her connection to the bush is strong and her art is inspired by rural life and nature.
“Country people seem to respond to my work. The positive feedback and interest I receive at the Aspects Art Show is a boost to my confidence as a painter,” she says.
Catherine believes that everyone can “tap into underlying artistic skills” and create a “little gem”.
“There are so many undiscovered talents out there. You just need to have a go.”
So artists – discovered and undiscovered - be inspired, get creative and send your entries into the 2015 Aspects Art Show.
Entries close on Monday 13th April and works are due by the 21st and 23rd April.
