It will be an exciting year for Aspects Art Show as we have again increased our prize money. Our watercolour section has increased to $500 for 1st prize. Local has increased to $1000 for 1st prize and $200 for 2nd. The 3D Section is now offering $1000 for 1st prize, and $200 for 2nd. Our Open Section continues to be a generous $3000 for 1st prize and $1000 for 2nd. The Under 18 and Under 12 sections have also had an exciting cash injection.
This year we are going completely digital. We'll post further details closer to the time but just to let you know, we have purchased new software which will allow for entries and payment to be online and everything to be automated. From our end, it will be incredibly time-saving and from your end, very stream-lined. As our art show continues to grow, the change to this software is exciting and very welcome.
The dates to keep in mind are:
Entry forms due – 13 April 2017
Freight to be received in Goondiwindi by 24 April or delivered personally on morning of 27 April
Art Show Opening Night – Thursday 4 May
Art shows exhibits over 5 to 6 May

Margaret Campbell-Ryder, curator of the Red Hill Gallery in Brisbane, has accepted our invitation to be our 2017 judge. As most of you will be aware, this gallery is very well-known and respected. Margaret will be accompanied by one of her senior consultants, Susan Blyton.
I’ll be in touch with entry information soon, but in the meantime, I hope you are encouraged to consider what you may paint, draw, sculpt and send to Aspects for our 2017 art show.
